Although this setup was originally intended for use by the military to ventilate fuel cells, this would be an ideal setup to use for any confined space ventilation.
Private Sector MSRP for this item is $44,000.00!
* Overall System Description:
The unit is designed to purge a fuel cell down to acceptable LEL fume levels in a minimal amount of time using pneumatically driven components. In addition, the unit will provide breathing air for three persons simultaneously and is equipped with a Stand-By Air supply in the event of failure of the drive compressor or the Breathing Air Pump. BIG WINDY requires 100 psi at 250 CFM of compressed air. The unit carries two 8" Blowers each driven by a 3 horsepower pneumatic motor. A Breathing Air Pump provides air to three persons. A pressure sensing valve will automatically switch to a Stand-By Air System in the event of drive compressor failure. Weight of entire system: 2800 lbs. Dimensions of entire system: 127.5" Length X 58.25" Width X 74" Height.
* 8" Blower (Quantity of 2):
The portable, pneumatic driven, variable speed blower has the capability to vent simultaneously with both a positive and negative air discharge. The Blower maximum air displacement is 2000 CFM at 2000 RPM. The Blower air motor and related parts are encased in a sheet metal housing with lifting handles provided. For mobility reasons the impeller is housed in a vacuum formed plastic shroud. The Blower inlet and outlet ports are designed with J-slot connections and made of stainless steel. Screen guards are provided on both the intake and the exhaust ports for safety. All Blower parts are mated to maximize grounding via female ground receptacles. Weight of each: 118 lbs Dimensions of each: 25.5" Width X 20" Depth X 27.5" Height.
This unit is designed to separate and discharge water condensation emitted by the drive compressor. The unit will also inject anti-freeze in a mist form for extreme low temperature operations. The unit includes two automatic drip 10 micron filter separators with sight measuring gauges. The unit is tilt proof and provides easy lift handles and is shock mounted on four rubber feet. Each unit provides two female grounding receptacles. Weight: 62 lbs. Dimensions: 17.5" Width X 26.25" Depth X 15.25" Height.
* Pneumatic Powered Breathing Air Pump (for up to 3 persons)
The Breathing Apparatus is a portable, pneumatic driven oil-less pump which supplies filtered ambient air, on a constant flow basis, simultaneously, for one, two, or three persons wearing full face respirators. The pump will deliver a sustained minimum of 15 CFM at 10 PSI with a maximum air temperature increase above ambient air of 4 degrees F. In the event of drive compressor failure, an audible signal will alert the operator and the unit will automatically switch to a standby compressed air supply. The air bottle will supply 3 persons with breathing air for 30 minutes. A three horsepower air motor drives a separate oil-less rotary vane pump. The air motor includes a separate dedicated de-icing air exhaust manifold and muffler that is designed to exhaust air from the air motor being drawn into the intake for the respirator pump. The unit is tilt proof and is shock mounted on rubber feet. The emergency air system consists of a 4-way pressure sensing valve that operates automatically and a 120 db. horn that also operates off the compressed air. Weight: 98 lbs. Dimensions: 24.5" Width X 17.25" Depth X 32" Height.
