Sale is for one UNIT as shown in photo which is one LOT / ITEM of listing. One photo
shows an interior view of this unit; there are gears, shafts, switches, etc. This UNIT was
Made by Sperry Marine Inc. of Charlottsville, VA, 22901 (P/N 1887158-10, S/N 4325A).
In 1987 Sperry - Piedmont Marine was renamed as Sperry Marine, Inc., so this UNIT is not
older. The Sperry Marine web site did not reveal any information, and a general Google
search did not come up with information, but an Email inquiry produced a response from
Sperry. I had no idea what this UNIT did.
- Base dimensions: 15" long x 4.5" wide. There are four 3/8 inch diameter holes for
mounting approx. 2 15/16" X 13.5" apart.
- Height: 10 5/16" to top of housing, with the arm add 7/8".
- Arm: 15" long, but it is 14" from center of pivot shaft to center of attachment
bolt hole. There are other undrilled closer in bolt hole locations also.
- On one side are three ports / plugs ( 3/4 NPT ? ) for electric conduit / cable.
- Inspection Tag is on top of UNIT. It has sign-off for each manufacturing step.
- Drawings Emailed to me indicate this UNIT was in production through the 1970's
- Rudder travel: +/- 42.5 degrees max.
