Mdc rack pinion linear motion feedthrough conflat rplm

This is an MDC linear motion feedthrough with 6" of travel and manual actuation (rack and pinion); 2-3/4" Conflat type flange.
This linear motion feedthrough is not new, but appears to be in good cosmetic condition. There are several places on the shaft where there are indentations that suggest that other parts were held in place there by use of cup point set screws. There are also several places where the surface of the shaft has been lightly "scarred" - perhaps by someone using pliers or similar tools to grip the shaft while assembling or removing other parts from it. There are a few modest scuffs and scrapes on the anodized aluminum body.
Functionally, this component appears to be fine. The knife edge sealing surfaces of the flange are in good shape, and the entire assembly checks out leak-free as tested by a helium mass spec. leak detector. By use of the crank handle, the feedthrough can be moved through its entire range of motion, with no problems apparent.
While not providing the same precision of adjustability that one would get from a micrometer-style actuator, the rack and pinion mechanism allows much quicker actuation - and with greater control than would be provided by a simple push-pull mechanism. Such a feedthrough would typically be used for a motion process that can be observed through a viewport.
* linear motion feedthrough with rack and pinion manual actuation
* 2-3/4" Conflat style flange
* Handle is rotated 1-1/4 turns for every 1" of linear travel
* For approximate position reference, body is etched in inch (0.025" per division) and metric (1 mm per division) units.
* Knob to lock linear position.
