Tested using high temperature heat gun, was able to get the meter to full scale, Can be calibrated using the meter adjustment, it is not calibrated right now. Meter sticks sometimes near 500 degrees F. A light tap with a fingernail was all that was required to get it to release. This is a great survivalist instrument as it requires no batteries or power to operate. you can use the high quality probe shown in the last picture, or use your own thermocouple wire of any length.
