Reads to the nearest 0.1 oz, which means you can get an accuratereading to the nearest 1/10th ounce. This is very important for weighing items thatare 1-3 ounces, like mail. If a scale does not read to the nearest 1/10th oz, youwill get inaccurate readings at the 1 and 2 ounce levels. For example an envelope weighing1.2 ounces will read on this ex10 as 1.2oz, so you know to put enough postage on for 2ounces. If you used a scale that measured to the nearest ounce, it may round downand cause you to put the wrong postage on the envelope.
The hold button is another important feature only seen in higherquality scales, because if you put an oversized item on the scale that covers the readout,the display is obscured. With the hold button, you can remove the box and thereadout remains.
The tare features allows you to measure just the weight ofsomething inside a container, without measuring the container.
