The sale of refrigerant is restricted the by the United State, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and covers all CFC s like R12 and HCFC s like R-22 refrigerants.
This sale restriction excludes:
Pure HFC refrigerants like R134a.
CFCs or HCFC s that are not intended for use as refrigerants.
1) Technicians certified for Type I, Type II, or Type III equipment by a certification program approved by EPA under section 608 of the Clean Air Act.
2) Employers of certified technicians, or the employers' authorized representatives, the employer must provide evidence that he or she employs at least one certified technician. "Employers" includes building owners who have a contract with a certified technician to perform installation or service.
3) Manufacturers of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment, where the refrigerant is used in the manufacture of the equipment.
1) Technicians certified for MVAC s by a certification program approved by EPA under section 609 of the Clean Air Act.
