Baker SterilGARD SG-400 Fume Hood
For sale- a Baker SterilGARD SG-400 Fume Hood. Physical condition is good, very good if you ignore the scattered spots on the right side where the paint is peeling off and the exposed steel is rusting a bit. That of course could be cured pretty quickly with a piece of sandpaper and a can of spray paint. I will leave that touch up to you since you may or may not find that important enough to even bother with. I guess this would be considered a 4 foot hood, but the interior width is only about 46 inches, and the outside width about 54 inches. Max interior depth is about 2 feet.
Functionally the blower gets right to work as does the fluorescent lighting. When I switch from fluorescent to sterilization, which I assume would be UV, nothing comes on, I don t even see where they are. So those lamps I guess will need to be replaced. The interior is very clean considering I haven t done anything to it. It could look better, but that will have to wait until it reaches its new home. The only issue that I found with this thing is that there is an alarm that goes off if the sliding glass door isn t just where it wants it to be. I don t have a manual, don t know how to turn off the alarm. Not sure why there is an alarm to start with. So that may need some attention even if it is just to disconnect it.
I have no idea what the status of any filter is. I know a lot of these things use filters with a finite life span. If they are good, fine, if not you will have to replace them. I see one other SG-400 listed for less than I am asking, but that appears to be missing the front control panel. The hood is untested other than as described and no warranty is offered.
