* Dessicant chamber with vacuum tube
Small quantities of material can be dried in this apparatus at a constant temperature and under reduced pressure. A small quantity of desiccating material is placed behind the indentation of the desiccant chamber which is designed to make it easy to add or remove material. Rapid drying is provided since the surface area of the desiccant is large in proportion to the quantity used.
The temperature of the heating chamber is kept constant at the boiling point of the liquid which is heated in the flask. A wide range of temperatures is possible by using liquids of different boiling points. The upper 24/40 joint is offset so that condensed liquid does not drip over the inner tube. The opening to the inside chamber is a inner 40/35 joint. This arrangement protects samples or tubes from coming into contact with the lubricant used on the joint.
The jacketed inner tube is approximately 30mm I.D. by 150 mm long; top of condenser is a tooled joint. The boiling flask joint is 24/40. Supplied with a stopcock on the vacuum tube connection. Approximate overall height is 660 mm.
