Whether youve just outgrown your router or are looking for more shaping versatility, this shaper from Jet is the most affordable way to expand your repertoire. Interchangeable 1/2- and 3/4-inch spindles let you use a greater range of cutters. A 3-horsepower, single-phase motor offers plenty of power to smoothly run larger cutters. A two-speed, step-pulley drive with reverse spins at either 8,000 or 10,000 rpm for working with a variety of cutters and materials. Housed within a sturdy, one-piece steel stand the motor is protected from dust and debris for years of reliable cutting performance. The units fully enclosed heavy duty steel stand keeps the motor clean, and has a removable motor cover for easy maintenance. The unit also uses _- and _-inch router collets, so you can still use those regular shank router bits you cut your teeth on. A 25-by-18-inch solid cast-iron table and 25-by-7-inch extension with T slots ensures optimal stability and provides plenty of room for working with larger stock. Four fully adjustable hold-downs help keep the workpiece steady for precise shaping. An up-front hand wheel makes it easy to adjust the spindle up and down without having to step aside. Heavy duty magnetic controls ensure safety in the shop. For quick and easy fence assemblies the unit is equipped with unique ratcheting style levers.
