This is a 12" long piece of 303 Stainless Steel Round Bar
The finish is Ground Mill finish, the diameter is a consistent 1.748 (.002 undersize)
This is free-machining Type 303 Stainless Steel. It is non magnetic, does not rust and is highly resistant to corrosion.
This particular chunk is a good way to have some spare stainless inventory. It is a big enough diameter to use for milling work (1.75 dia. will yield a 1-1/4" square) and it machines easy enough to make smaller diameters if needed.
