Penn mechanical baker's dough scale / needs repair
Both the notched brass rail and the weight that slides across it are missing. These parts are available from Penn Scales and possibly from other sources. You will need to supply metal shot or BB's to go in the compartment under the weighing platforms to balance the scale after repairing it. Other than these missing parts, everything else seems to be in order. Compare this scale to the photo at http:// /bakers_scales.htm to see the missing parts.
I emailed Penn Scale about parts and received this response (you may find the parts elsewhere for less, but this gives you a good estimate):
Yes we have spare parts. The beam for the scale is $35, the beam weight is $23. The screws are free.
