This is our top of the line Hand Held 50x Magnifying Glass with screw on shroud covers, mint and new, from our fine optics collection. The instrument measures 4" tall with a diameter of 7/8". Functioning much like a microscope with a screw type adjustable lens, the tool is used by simply standing it on top of what is to be viewed. When looking into the lens what ever is within the 3/4" center ring base, is viewed 50 times larger. This instrument is finely machined in metal and will porvide a lifetime of use with proper care. The metal supporting arm keeps the proper distance and clairty consistant. The magnifier is designed to simply use room light, or if desired, shine additional light of your own on the viewing spot. When not in use, the base is protected by a screw on metal cover, and the lens protected by a lens cap. This instrument is used extensively by the bereau of engraving in Washington D. C., and is well suited for the stamp and coin collector.
