Ives Commercial Grade Door Guard 482B26D Brushed Chrome
You are purchasing a new Ives (made by Schlage) Door guard safety latch, model 482B26D Brushed Chrome Finish. Do not get these confused with some of the cheaper molded models that you can find for a few dollars. This is not one of the cheaper models, these are copper casted with brushed chrome finish. This is a commercial grade latch and comes with the door protector plate that sticks on the door. These are usually installed to where the door hits the arm of the latch when you are using the arm to prevent the door from closing in situations where you have a door that has an automatic door closer installed, it keep the arm from damaging the door edge. I have installed these on several Motels and Hotels.
Brass Door Guard, in Brushed Chrome Finish
IVES 482B26D For use on doors that are flush with frames.
The solid bar, interlocking with the ball on the strike plate, permits the door to be slightly opened to allow viewing.
The hinged bar allows the door guard to be positioned 180 away from the door when not in use.
Edge guard only, furnished with cast brass door guards,
minimizes the chance for marring the door or frame.
Strike plate is designed to prevent the solid bar from marring the inside of the door when in use.
Made from cast brass or cast aluminum.
Packed with sheet metal screws.
