Micro Hightower microtroller robotic platform
Meet the Micro Hightower, the multi-layer protoboard robotic platform named after that big guy in the nerd movies. This is another newly designed product I have just completed. It was inspired by the Boe Bot and has some added features which takes it to the next level ( literaly ). Unlike the Mini Hightower robot, it was designed for smaller microcontroller boards such as PICAXE or anything that will fit. The platforms are 3" x 4". The motors are mounted with heavy duty velcro and easily removed. The microcontroller board can also be mounted with velcro for easy removal for other projects. A Parallax Basic Stamp board will fit perfectly. I am a home robot builder and not a big company. I designed this for hobbiests, home electronic expermenters, and students after alot of research last year with as many options I could think of. It has lots of room for expansion ( up ) and is designed for small rooms and apartments. Some experience would be helpful, and includes a AA x 4 battery box with 4 rechargable batteries. Sorry not available in kit form yet. Pre-assembled only.
OPTION # 2 Solar Charger and Assist A 2 cell ( 2.25" x 6" each ) Solar Panel is also available as an add on for an additional $20. It is mounted on a lexon panel with hardware included. It can be easily mounted in back of the processor board above the omniwheel. The parallel output is 9V at 240 ma and is perfect for charging the battery or running a processor board. I have used with Parallax boards. Better check on your board specs. on maxium input voltages, unless using an onboard voltage regulator. It does not have enough current to run the servos. =
