Sherline taig mini mill aluminum"no mar" machinist jack

Tired of having a long piece grabb and damaged while clamped to a vise in your mill? This ALUMINUM body "NO MAR" Machinist Jack made in just the right size for your Sherline or Taig Micro-Mill is the answer.
If you clamp a work piece longer than the width of the vise jaws for milling, you know that it's disconcerting when the moving end mill suddenly grabs or tilts the piece down in the vise jaws and ruins it. This custom made and expertly engineered precision machinist jack is made especially for the Sherline or Taig micro mills.
The base and body is made of 6061 aluminum which is the same material used in the milling table. Since 6061 is softer than the anodized finish on the milling table, it is not likely at all to scratch or damage it. The bottom is fully deburred and hand finished of all rough surfaces.
This jack is precision made with all surfaces precisely machined to ensure that the screw's axis is parallel to the side flats of the hex section body and plumb with the base.
I looked and designs for many many machinist jacks made by others, including the one made by Author Doug Briney in the "Machinist's Handbook." Unfortunately, his is made of steel and requires a couple large and akward 1/2 inch wrenches to adjust. Mine has a screw of approximately the same threads per inch, 25.4 vs. 24, but uses a much more compact 10mm wrench, which is the most commonly used wrench in all the world. The short approximately 5 inch long wrench is sized just right for either the Taig or Sherline mills. I considered using 1/4x28 screws but rejected them in favor of 6mm since the 10mm wrench is smaller and handier than the 7/16 wrench. Since the jack reacts solely to vertical or axial forces, the 10mm hex pad is much more appropriate than the larger 1/2 inch hex that others are using.
This compact precision made machinist jack is appromately 7/8 inches high when collapsed and 1-1/2 inches tall when fully extended-just the right size for a micro-mill. This sale is for one custom made aluminum based machinist jack sized for either the Sherline or Taig micro-mill. No other item shown in the photos are included. The photos show how this handy item may be used. Athough this item is guaranteed to be exactly as described, ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
