Synthes/ asif large fragment hex screwdriver, 314.12
Synthes/ ASIF Screwdriver for 4.5mm cortical screws. I bought this new in about 1995 and used it until 2006. It has been sitting in a closet since then. I rarely used 4.5mm screws so this screwdriver saw VERY little use - I doubt thah it was used 10 times ever. There is also some mild "mottling" or non-uniformity of color to the handle likely from autoclaving. This actually looks worse in the photos than in person. I would easily give the thing an overall condition rating of 9+ out of 10.
Please Note: This screwdriver does not show up in my 2007-2008 Synthes price list and it has apparently been replaced by item #314.27 (Large Hex Screwdriver). I do not know if this speaks to some change in the configuration of the 4.5mm cortical screws or not. Please do your homework. I have seen this exact item listed for sale with no mention of a change in screw configuration so .......???????? The old ASIF used to change things without telling anyone. I think Synthes is a little better. The price reflects the above uncertainty.
