Tekna Induction Plasma Spraying System
For sale- a Tekna Induction Plasma Spraying System. When I say system, I have two pieces that are being offered here. The larger piece is a stainless steel vacuum chamber, which measures roughly 42 inches in diameter on the inside, and about 49 inches deep, also on the inside not including the hemispheric cap at each end. The other component is a Tekna Plasma Systems controller. Both were sourced from the same large university even though they were not sold together. They came from the same Materials Science department, so chances are pretty good they go together. Both are pictured, that is what you will get, so please study the pictures closely.
There are other components of the system that are not included. First and foremost, the plate on the side notes Plasma Power 100KW. I am fairly confident that the Plasma Power was being provided by a large Lepel RF Induction Heater System that is NOT included. I purchased the Lepel system that I think was being used with it, but given the vintage and the weight have opted to sell that separately. The Lepel system alone is over 10,000 pounds for the three pieces involved.
There is no vacuum pump provided. I purchased a large Edwards EH-2600 Roots Blower vacuum pump from the same department and I would be willing to bet it was the vacuum engine of the whole operation. But I don t know that for a fact and you may already have all the vacuum pumps you need, so I have already sold that. I suspect that a Metco/Perkin Elmer 9MP Powder Feed Unit was also part of the same project, and I also purchased that from the same department, but it has already been sold. Both of those were functional when they reached their new home.
And I had a Travaini Pumps Type TRHE 40-140/C/GH Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump purchased in a different lot at the same time the controller was sold that might be have been related, also now sold. And a Thermcraft Furnace Controller that might also have been involved, that is still available. Please check out my other listings for that and more interesting lab and test equipment. If I have to move this to my warehouse the logistics become even more complicated, so the price will go up, not down. I am operating in a vacuum relative to price, but I get the feeling something like this isn t available used on a regular basis. Get it NOW!
