The HL-60 was designed by AEA to provide an Amateur radio operator with the ability to control their HF, VHF, UHF station or receiver over a telephone line. The basic requirement of your radio is that it must have the ability to be controlled by a PC. A PC is not however required for use with Hamlink.
The HL-60 allows you to control the frequency, mode, VFO selction, scan and split operation of your radio. It will also announce the frequency the radio is tuned to in a syhthesised voice.
There are two methods of tuning the radio, the operator can key in a freq and have the radio go to that frequency or the radio can be tuned either up or down in freq in 10hz, 100hz, 1khz and 5khz steps.
The optional OP-80 (not included here) is required for CW operation.
