Edge sensors are used to scan opaque web edges without contact and are preferred for implementation with web guiders. Web height deviations, caused by the swinging of the pivoting frame or the winding and unreeling devices, can,depending on the version, amount to a maximum of approx. 1150 mm. The edge sensor with proportional signal output operates on a reflector principle and detects deviations of less than 0.1 mm.Our positioning supports guarantee the proper positioning of the edge sensor on the web edge.
The edge sensor consists of a combined light transmitter and receiver and a reflector which is either a signal or a triple film.Various brackets are available for securing purposes. The amplifier built into the receiver is influenced by the amount of light - which depends on the degree of web covering - beamed by the transmitter and sent back by the reflector opposite.
