(1) DOUBLE METAL SWITCH GANG BOX
ALL RECEPTACLE AND SWITCH PLATES
(1) 110V SWITCHED OUTLET FOR PUMP
This Electrical Package Includes Everything Needed To Wire
A Concession Trailer For 110V/30A Service. A Complete Wiring
Diagram Is Included With Each Electrical Package Order.
LOAD CENTER, BREAKERS, POWER CORD
The Homeline HOM612L is an indoor 120V/240V - 100 Amp Load Center and it is UL Listed. Included with the load center are (6) Homeline 20A Circuit Breakers. Also included is a 110V/30A power cord. This is the same cord that is used in most major RV's. It has a molded 30A plug on one end and stripped 10AWG insulated copper black, white and green wires. These wires are installed directly into the load center lugs.
12/2 ROMEX WIRE, SINGLE GANG BOXES, DOUBLE GANG BOX
Included with this package is 100' of 12/2 Romex Indoor wire. This wire is used in building and housing and meets all local codes. Contains (1) insulated black wire, (1) insulated white wire and (1) bare ground wire. Can be installed directly inside any wall or inside conduit. (10) galvanized shallow gang boxes and (1) double gang box are included for each of the (10) 110V duplex outlet receptacles and for the (2) light switches, respectively. These gang boxes can be used with or without conduit. We include strain relief connectors for each gang box to eliminate sharp edge chafing for the Romex wire. If conduit is to be used, you will have to purchase the conduit connectors for each box.
110V OUTLET RECEPTACLES, LIGHT SWITCHES, ALL COVERS
The electrical package would not be complete without outlets and switches and the cover plates. We include (10) white duplex 110V receptacle outlets with matching outlet covers and (2) on/off white light switches with (1) duplex switch cover. Each outlet has the standard silver and gold screws for attaching the black and white wires and a green screw for connecting the ground. The switches have 2 gold screws for attaching the black wires. All outlets and switches are UL Listed.
SWITCHED OUTLET FOR DEMAND PUMP
This switched outlet is ideal for plugging the 110V demand pump into. It serves as an on/off switch for the pump only and only controls what is plugged into the outlet. When wired properly, this switched outlet will provide the means of turning on or off the demand pump, and only the pump. Demand pumps should always remain off when not in use in case of a leak in the water system.
THE ELECTRICAL PACKAGE ADVANTAGE
The load center we provide, along with the power cord, will assure 110V/30A service to the trailer. This means, if wired and installed properly, your trailer will not trip its own circuit breakers when your appliances are in full operation. If you exceed 30 amps with your trailer, you will trip the breaker that the trailer is plugged in to. If this happens, you have 2 solutions. a) eliminate an appliance to lower your amperage draw. b) Upgrade to 110V/50A service or to 220V/30A service. Upgrading is very common, very safe, and not very expensive, however, you may find that most shows cannot provide this service requirement for your trailer. It is recommended that before you upgrade, check with your upcoming events and shows to see if this service is available. If not, you may have to revert to plan a).
When it comes time to decide how many outlets to use, where to place them and what outlets should be wired to what circuit breaker, keep these ideas in mind. 1) Whether you use florescent lighting or incandescent lighting, this is a low amperage draw. You can use one 20A breaker and share your lighting circuit with outlets used for cash registers, small appliances, etc. Do not share this circuit with high amperage appliances. This will result in your lights dimming every time the appliance kicks on. 2) Use one 20A circuit breaker and one outlet for your air conditioner, nothing else. 3) Repeat the same for the hot water heater. 4) Use one 20A circuit breaker to power outlets that a refrigerator and/or freezer would plug in to. 5) Space your outlets throughout the trailer and keep in mind what appliances might be used by these outlets. Try to put no more than 3 outlets on one 20A circuit breaker. 6) If you are planning on using 110V deep fryers, you should use one circuit breaker and one outlet for each fryer. 7) Plan smart and do some research. We can all add, you just need to know what to add. For example, you wish to use one outlet to plug a blender into. The blender uses 7 amps. Another outlet will be used to plug a toaster into. The toaster uses 12 amps. When you add 7 + 12 it equals 19 amps. If you are using a 20A circuit breaker, you only have 1 amp left before it trips. DO NOT wire any more outlets on this circuit. Always assume you will be running everything at the same time. Do the research, add the amps, then design the circuit. It will be much easier to do that now, than later.
