Each BLOCK MAGNET measures 0.75" x 0.5" x 0.25"
These rare earth magnets are new, and are nickel plated to prevent corrosion. The thick triple plating and the beveled edges work well to minimize chips or breaks, but these BLOCKS are of a size where care must be taken to avoid letting magnets smack together. The BLOCK magnets can be covered with something as simple as a few wraps of Scotch Tape, which provides much protection against chips or breaks.
Neodymium magnets will not loose their magnetism from coming into close proximity to other strong magnets or from smacking together. Except for vulnerability to extreme heat, they are quite permanent and will suffer no loss of magnetism in your lifetime. Heat is like "Kryptonite" to the neodymium magnets. Sustained temperatures over 176f, (80c), will cause these magnets to lose their "super power".
Below is an image of one of these 3/4" BLOCK magnets being tested for magnetic strength.
Basically, the test magnet is stuck between the red painted iron at the bottom of the image and the head of the bolt, which is attached to the spring scale. As the hydraulic jack is pumped the magnetic bond pulls down on the spring scale. This BLOCK magnet size tested to 24lbs! This standardized testing of magnetic strength is basically a "best case scenario" for the holding ability of this size and shape of magnet.
Above, a 16pc lot as seen on edge with spacers between magnets. The sides measuring 3/4" x 1/4" are facing the camera for the above image.
