Schokbeton architectural concrete construction holland
1966 Schokbeton International brochure. Architectural, industrical, structural concrete company's brochure - circa 1966. The brochure is undated but the introduction implies the year. Printed by Den Oudsten, Lekkerkerk, The Netherlands.
Description: 108 pages; glossy advertising brochure showing full-page photographic examples of the use of the architectural concrete invented by this company for use in modern buildings of all sizes & purposes: hotels, apartment buildings; manufacturing; university & college buildings; office buildings, etc. A few photos are of the buildings under construction; some are architect's renderings. Some are in color but most are black & white. Photographs are captioned with architect's name or firm, city, use of building & company names for each photographs. Captioning appears to be in the language of the city where the building is located, though this isn't consistent.
The background of the cover seems to be a photograph of the surface of the architectural concrete product this company produces. What appears to be the company logo is above the company name on the cover; back cover is blank.
From the introduction [this text also appears in Dutch, French, & German]:
Between 1931 the year of invention of the Schokbeton process and to-day lies a period of 35 years of development, sound knowledge and experience with the manufacture of precast shock-concrete elements.
In this booklet you will find pictures of buildings realized at home and abroad in recent years in which Schokbeton has been applied.
