This Impact-O-Graph stylus bracket assemblies are available in various G sensitivities to 6g.
These highly sensitive, self-contained devices can be embedded in containers or packages to record the magnitude, direction and time of impacts up to 300g. Three stylus brackets record impacts in three directions: lateral shock (x-axis), longitudinal shock (y axis) and vertical shock (z axis).
Three mass-spring styli work independently of each other, each measuring one axis of possible impacts X, Y and Z. Each stylus operates by angular vibration with one degree of freedom in the direction it monitors. The mechanical, friction-free linkage from each stylus' inertia mass converts motion from any of the three measured directions into the same plane and draws these forces onto the chart paper for easy reading. Impact-O-Graph stylus bracket assemblies are available in various G sensitivities from 2g to 500g. This model is 6g.
