Altec vickers hydraulic pump for digger derrick crane
This is a hydraulic pump that is used on a Altec digger derrick crane.
It is a dual pump so that you can run two different hydraulic systems at the same time. This allows you to keep full pressure maintained on a system even when you are also using the other one. For example, you don't want to loose hydraulic power to the boom functions on a digger derrick while you are also running the digger auger motor.
These are great pumps and I have sold a lot of them in the past and they will work for a lot of different applications where you need a double pump. I have seen several guys use these pumps to make a really heavy duty wet kit for a semi road tractor. I have also divided these pumps in half and take the second stage of the pump off and then you have a single type pump for a bucket truck or other application.
This pump was rebuilt less than six months before I removed it from a working D845 Altec digger derrick. I was able to test the pump and it all worked great before I unhooked it. There is a rebuilt sticker on the side from Mobile Power Hydraulics. I think when it was rebuilt that they also replaced the main drive shaft as the drive splines that attach to the truck PTO are not worn like most are.
The pump has a manufacturers tag on the end that reads:
This pump was attached to a standard type PTO mount on the side of a Allison automatic transmission. It can be used on many different trucks. If you need the pump to be mounted on the other side of the transmission, you can remove the internal pump gear and flip it over so that it can be spun the opposite rotation and still flow out the pump the correct way. This is a very versatile pump.
