Matilda Fleece Covers for Sheep, Goats, and Alpacas
These sheep covers are made from tough, yet soft, long-lasting nylon material that will not rip or press down on the wool. This fabric breathes and is UV fortified. The elasticized edges at the neck, sides, and rear allow the covers to expand as wool grows. This is an Australian-proven product, from a country of 130 million sheep.
There are many positive benefits to covering your sheep
* UV fortification means no sun damage. The color stays even throughout without bleaching and your sheep produce more wool.
* The fleece is softer with no damage or felting of the tips.
* This coat on Donald is too small; time for a bigger size.
* Can be worn year-round does not interfere with lambing or nursing.
* It has been documented that sheep that wear covers are healthier, since they are cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, breed better, and produce longer staples!
How to Measure for Proper Fit:
Measure from the base of the neck (where it joins the back), to the top of the tail and add about 5 or 6 inches-to allow for wool length and chest length. If the measurement is in between sizes, please order a larger size. If the coat is a bit too large, you may an elastrator band (for tail docking and castrating) to gather the material up above the tail and hold it until the fleece grows. You may find that it is necessary to increase the size of the coat/cover as the sheep and/or fleece grows. Make sure to check the bands at the back of the legs off and on to make sure that they are not too tight.
