All objects emit infrared energy from its surface. The hotter the object is, the more active its molecules are, and the more infrared energy it emits. The Optex Thermo-Hunter Hand-Held Infrared Thermometers house optics that collect the radiant infrared energy from the object and focus it onto a detector. The detector converts the amount of infrared energy into an electrical signal, which is amplified and displayed. Because the method is non-contact, it enables quick and easy measurement of the target temperature from a safe distance.
Optex non-contact hand-held thermometers can be used for various applications, such as:
