this antique dates back to the 1800's it was used to carry around on planes and other places to write on. It has different compartments for pencils and paper. this piece needs to be redone. It is made od solid cherry,however, has alot of scratches and the inside velvet has minor mold spots. This would be a great piece for antique shops
