Hardinge hlv-h toolroom lathe dro/tooling single phase
If you've been searching for a truly fine HLV-H specimen, then this is your machine. New cost of this machine, set up like it is, is in the neighborhood of $55-60k.
The machine holds a tenth easily and is repeatable all day long.
Hardinge HLV-H. Serial number 4319. Hardinge confirms the manufacture date of 1970.
This machine is in excellent condition in all ways, and is maximally accessorized and tooled as can be.
It has just been completely gone through/refurbished by our in-house tool & die maker.
All controls/feeds, etc work perfectly. All gears are excellent.
All dials and handles are as you see-excellent, with the exception of the 2 small dials on the headstock which hardinge no longer supplies.
The hardened and ground bed/ways could not be better and are in excellent condition. bearings too.
This is, of course, a used machine. It has been repainted (nicely) with everything masked off properly before painting.
If you are looking at this machine, then you know the basic specs:
11" swing, about 20" between centers.
The machine was set up to run on 440v/480v originally, but we converted it to 208/240V as being the more desirable. It can be converted back to the higher voltage befoire delivery if you wish.
NOTE: I will be happy to set up a static phase converter on this machine for the new owner prior to delivery if so desired. This will allow this machine to run on SINGLE PHASE power (220V house wiring). No extra charge.
This is a 5C collet machine with quick change collet closer. Included is the very hard-to-find spindle nose cover.
This is an English only machine (not English/Metric), but all non-standard and metric gear sets are available from hardinge. You can purchase just those gears needed for a particular set up.
Change gears ARE NOT required or used for the built in/standard threading which is 11 to 108 tpi:
Infinitely variable electronic speed control from 125 to 3000 rpm. The spindle speed plate has been replaced as you can see.
The machine is accessorized with flood coolant system (also controlled by the pendant above) which is secured to and moves with the carriage. The pictures don't show it set up, but it will be before delivery.
Power longitudinal and cross feeds work perfectly and smoothly. Operation is by the motor control on the right side of the machine. The carriage speed plate has been replaced with new.
This machine is also equipped with the very desirable, complete and fully functional TAPER ATTACHMENT. As you can see, the follower for the taper was custom built out of brass and works perfectly.
A Digital Readout system (DRO) has been added and mounted as you can see. The head is an Anilam Wizard Lathe model 350.
The Longitudinal Scale (Z axis) reads to a tenth (.0001"/2um). Cross slide reading (X axis) to 50 millionths (.00005"/1um).
Below you can see how the cross scale is mounted. Nice.
Diameter reading to a tenth (.0001"/2um). This is not an inexpensive DRO system.
The machine is extraordinarily tooled as well.
Also added are 2 additional #2 holders so you don't have to constantly change your bits. These 2 extras are not Aloris brand.
Albrecht keyless 0" to 3/8" chuck. MT2 arbor to fit tailstock. Best available.
A CNC type long-nose live center. MT2 arbor to fit tailstock.
A spare variable speed belt (VSG-9624 EB) is also included - just becasue...
Hardinge taper mount 7" face plate. Pristine condition.
Hardinge Model C Radius Cutting Attachment. Excellent. This is a very rare and desirable accessory. Made of unobtanium :)
Massive, Brand new 65 piece 5C collet set. This set includes all collets, by 64ths from 1/8" to 1-1/8". Still in tubes... Plus an emergency collet thrown in for good measure.
This is an item that is has to go freight (by truck) or be picked up here locally in the Albuquerque area. I encourage local pickup and can load on to anything you've got. Weight is about 1700 lb.
There is NO CHARGE to skid, crate and load.
This estimate is based on delivery to a commercial location (you have a loading dock or forklift available and a semi truck can get in and out)
