Five pounds of kelp meal, also known as ascophyllum nodosum. It contains 60 trace minerals, all essential amino acids, and 12 vitamins. It is listed with the OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) as certified for use in organic food production. Particle size is 14 mesh.
Kelp meal has been used for centuries as a natural animal feed additive. The observed benefits associated with regular use of kelp meal include increased vitality and stamina, healthier coat and skin, bright eyes, better conception rates in breeding animals, increased milk production, increased egg production in poultry, more efficient feed utilization, and better growth rates.
It can be fed to cattle, horses, swine, sheep, goats, poultry, and pets including cats and dogs. It is not recommended for rabbits. It can also be used as a soil conditioner and fertilizer in organic gardening.
Kelp meal can be mixed into the feed or top dressed. Daily recommended feeding rates:
* Dogs (small) - 1/2 teaspoon
* Poultry - 1 to 2% of feed ration
* Sheep and goats - 1/2 ounce
* Dairy & Beef Cattle - 2 to 4 ounces
