** The spindle head has 19 spindle speeds and can be selected from the standard rotary hand dial or via the control using S codes.
1. This machine was completely rescraped to new machine alignments in 2009.
2. The spindle head was completely disassembled, cleaned and all bearings, seals and parts found damaged or in need of replacement were replaced. A new main head pump was installed with a new Continental heat exchanger, hoses, hydraulic lines and fittings.
3. The spindle bar and sleeve was reconditioned including the following:
o Draw polish the O.D. of the spindle bar for appearance only.
o Regrind the taper socket to ensure that there are no high spots to interfere with the
performance of spindle tooling during operation.
o Recondition the spindle sleeve including installation and I.D. grinding of new bushings.
o Fit the new spindle sleeve bearings.
4. New precision preloaded ball screws were installed on all axes including new quad pack ball screw bearings W, Y & Z axes. X axis bearings are of the DeVlieg original design.
5. New way covers were installed on the X axis.
6. A new Turmoil Refrigeration unit was installed to control spindle head temperature.
7. A new Trabon way lubrication unit was installed.
8. The machine was completely painted with Imron Epoxy Enamel. (Light machine tool gray)
9. New saddle pocket covers, way wipers and scrapers were installed.
The machine has been completely rewired including new motor starters, column mounted enclosure with air conditioner, sealtite, fittings, wire, disconnect circuit breaker and new documentation.
The operators control station is pendant mounted.
