The roaster has been bench tested and will come equipped with a new temperature sensor and the new thicker glass roast chamber. All Sonofresco roasters allow the user to choose from ten different finished levels. The one pound machine roasts and cools a pound of coffee in less than twenty minutes making it well suited for producing from one to twenty five pounds of coffee per day. It requires less than one minute of labor per pound of roasted coffee, and energy costs are very low usually less than five or six cents per pound. Additional machines can be added to increase capacity.
The Sonofresco Roaster is a "fluidized bed" roaster in which the heated air is used to roast and circulate the beans which produces a very even roast. The heat source is either propane or natural gas. The electric demand is minimal, just the operation of the blower and the electronic control.
Roaster is also shown in typical installation with optional ventilation hood and coffee equipment. Note its small footprint making it perfect for installation where space is at a premium!
