Things you should consider when purchasing a Freeze Dryer are:
1) How many grams, kilograms or litres should be freeze dried per day by the dryers? This will impact on the size of condenser and whether the -50 or -80 unit is chosen.

The Telstar Cryodos -50 has a condenser capacity of 4Kg, and will freeze dry 1.5Kg per 24hours
The Telstar Cryodos -80 has a condenser capacity of 4Kg, and freeze drys 4Kg per 24hours
If the freeze dryers are any more than 4kg condenser capacity you will need expert assistance - please contact the product specialist at Progen for help. A larger model will be required such as the LyAlfa or LyoBeta ranges.
2) What solvent is being freeze dried? This will also affect the choice of condenser temperature.
The Cryodos is a laboratory freeze-dryer especially developed for basic research in biotechnology and scientific institutes. The unit is designed and constructed according to GLP requirements.
The equipment is easy to use and has very low maintenance requirements.
* The refrigerator compressor and the vacuum pump are housed in a bench mounted table-top unit constructed in a steel stove enamelled cabinet.
* Two stage vacuum pump, supplied with Gas-Ballast to remove vapour and condensation contained in the oil.
* Hermetically sealed air-cooled refrigerator compressor. CFC free cooling liquid.
* A condenser consisting of a co-axial coil inside a drum type manifold with 8-off 3/4" (18mm) diameter rubber valves. This allows the connecting of several accessories to freeze dry simultaneously products in flasks (29/32 mm connection), vials or bulk, as required by the user. A top transparent acrylic lid provides viewing of the ice forming process.
* The material used in the construction of the coil and the drum type manifold is AISI-316 stainless steel, which gives greater hardness and durability.
* Low noise level: less than 55 dBA.
* Microprocessor controlled system with a digital screen giving easy read-out of current condenser and vacuum temperatures during the various stages of the cycle.
