The VIZ WV-120 C Power Line Monitor provides a constant accurate indication of the AC
or the necessity of selecting one of several scales to determine the proper meter
reading. A standard three-wire grounded receptacle, built in to the instrument,
provides Voltage measurement of connected equipment.
The WV-120 C can be used on 120 Volt AC power line sources with frequencies of 25, 50,
60 or 400 hertz. The instrument features accuracy of +/-2 percent at 120 Volts and
+/-3 percent at 100 and 140 Volts. The meter has an expanded scale with large,
easy-to-read, Voltage designations. Also, the tip of the meter pointer is wide
enough to be seen clearly at a considerable distance from the instrument. As a
convenience means of reference, the nominal AC line Voltage standard of 120 Volts is
The meter movement of the WV-120 C is a moving-vane type. This type of meter
indicates RMS values even when the waveform of the power supply Voltage is
distorted. The meter movement is only slightly damped and the resulting fast
response is useful for detecting AC Power Line fluctuations.
The meter is housed an attractively styled metal case. The instrument may be left in
operation indefinitely, providing a continuous indication of the power line Voltage.
