Anderson powerpole powerpoles 45A connectors, 7 pack
Package includes 7 black housings, 7 red housings, and 14 pieces of 45 Amp terminals. Note that the 15, 30, and 45 Amp Powerpoles all use the same red and black housings, and will all mate with each other. Select the proper size based on the wire you plan to install.
Typically, use the 15A for #24 thru #18; use the 30A for #18 thru #12; and use the 45A for #12 thru #8.
We are often asked why we don't include the metal roll pins with our Powerpoles, as some others do. The answer is simple. Experience has shown that the pins can (and most likely will) fall out. When they do, it's a safe bet that they will fall into your radio, your power supply, or someplace else that will cause maximum damage.
We've built and sold many thousands of Powerpole cables, and never - ever - had a complaint about them sliding apart in use. However.... if you wish to perform that function, there are many alternatives:
A toothpick or matchstick in the hole;
Crazy glue or similar for a permanent bond;
Hot-melt glue for a removable bond;
Heat shrink tubing or electrical tape over the connector;
A zip-tie on the wires just behind the connector;
A #3 machine screw and nut (use a nylock nut or lock-tite);
And probably a dozen other ways that we haven't thought of.
Bottom line is that there are many ways to hold them together, and the metal pins are just about the only bad way.
We can only wonder about the "expertise" and "experience" of those who sell and/or recommend them.
