A mandala, or mystic circle, is an ancient art form that creates a sacred space. Gazing on a mandala, we are led on a journey to an inner center. The Healing Mandalas in this calendar are assembled entirely from photographs of natural elements. Artists Bell & Todd digitally remix these elements, transforming them into living collages. These images express the uplifting power of mandalas in a unique modern form.
In the center of each mandala, you see the Earth in cosmic form with a corona of seashells. This celestial globe is set on a circle of elements such as flowers, shells, plants and butterflies. Behind the central circle a second element forms a square, creating a colorful synergy. When we contemplate these visions, we strengthen our inherent ability to come into balance. Personal and planetary harmony are intimately linked.
