The MC433/MC433G Rev 0.97 Motor Control software respond to commands sent to them by the MC-USB10. The MC-USB10 is a USB peripheral that with suitable desktop software allows any I2C device to communicate with the desktop. The MC-USB10 comes with complete source code so custom applications can be created to control/monitor smart motion control devices. For example the MC5 Relay Adapter is a Smart Slave I2C device that responds to commands sent to it via the MC-USB10. All future SOC Robotics Motion Control Producst will have I2C communication functionality.
The MC-USB10 comes pre-loaded with an multipurpose application that implements a Serial Driver, ISP programming utility, I2C function and Step/Direction line control that communicates with stepper motor controllers - complete source code to the sample program is included. Free target USB example source code and desktop drivers can be downloaded from the Atmel web site. A free open source USB application suite called MyUSB is also available. New applications can be written in C using Windows IDE tools or GNU C tools and then burned into Flash. The latest AVR Studio from Atmel integrates the C GNU tools into the AVR Studio IDE for seemless Windows development. The pre-loaded application is written using the open source MyUSB code base.
