Aluminium Potassium Sulphate 12-hydrate (Dodecahydrate) (ALUM / Potassium Alum)
Supplied in a double sealed Euro Spec chemical container to keep contents dry during storage.
Can be used as a mordant in the dyeing process. . It is also used in taxidermy, as a preservative in foodstuffs and cooking, in water purification and pools, water supplies, as a flocculant to increase the viscosity of glazes using in ceramics, which allows the glaze to stick to the pottery more easily and resists the sedimentation of the glaze from the carrier liquid,also used in cosmetics.
This product is what people are referring to when they ask for ALUM. Often people confuse aluminium sulphate for alum. In some uses they have very similar properties and can be substituted but generally they have different properties.
