Compact Air Products compact guided cylinder GC4000 Series
25mm Bore double end rod guided cylinder; 50mm stroke
All Tapped holes and ports converted to inches
Series GC3000/4000 Guided Air Cylinders
The GC3000 features two long guide bushings in the head end. The guide rods do not extend beyond the back of the cylinder body, thus providing a very short overall length and low unit weight.
The GC4000 features four long guide bushings, two per end. The guide rods extend beyond the back of the cylinder body so when the cylinder extends, four point support reduces deflection and extends the life under full loads. The series is 100% metric with optional imperial thread connections available.
GC3000/4000 Series Guided Cylinders are not offered over 150mm total stroke. Stroke lengths are standard from 5mm to 150mm by 5mm increments. Bore sizes available are 12mm, 25mm, and 40mm. Available as single or double rod end. Consult stroke availability table in options window. Pressure rated to 117 PSI pneumatic for 12mm bore and to 217 PSI pneumatic for 25mm and 40mm.
Series GC3000/4000 Guided Air Cylinders Design Features
Features two headed external guide rods designed to insure strength and long life. They do not enter the sealed chamber, yet do not extend from the cylinder wall.
* GC3000 guide rods made from 416 stainless steel and heat treated
* GC4000 guide rods are chrome plated high strength carbon steel.
Long, oil impregnated bronze guide bushings are precision fitted into the cylinder's rectangular housing.
The central rod is "roller burnished" 303 stainless, to reduce friction and "work-harden" the outer rod surface.
D. PATENTED COMPACT MAGNETIC PISTON
Standard for limit sensing with optional Comtronic solid state sensors. The magnetic piston features a Tuf-Coat "TFE" coating. The low coefficient of friction of "TFE" combined with the high yield of the base material provides a low friction bushing that prevents abrasion and galling under side load.
Both patented end caps are easily removed for rebuilding.
Alignment pockets and keyways are conveniently arranged on all mounting surfaces to insure accurate mounting and added shear strength. All keyways, pilots and sides labeled 2, 3 and 4 on the frame are machined parallel to the bore, within 0,07mm.
Black anodized aluminum tooling plate is machined flat and provides a large surface for attachments.
Guided cylinders are shown retracted. The distance between the tooling plate and the cylinder face prevents a "finger trap".
The housing is made from extruded aluminum and anodized for a clean, attractive appearance. Additional machining of the bore results in low friction and concentricity, contributing to long life. All keyways, pilots and sides labeled 2, 3 and 4 on the frame are machined parallel to the bore, within 0,07mm.
Extended guide rods and two additional bronze guide rod bushings provide less deflection and extended life.
