This is a large glass optical diffraction grating supplied by Thermo Jarrell Ash. The glass plate is about 11cm X 11cm square and about 1 cm thick. It comes with the interference pattern in the plastic case.
The grating is new condition. I opened an identical unit to take the photographs and to check the line count. This grating has never been removed from its protective case. You can see the interference pattern from the laser I used the check the line count in the photos. I have been told these are glass master gratings for lab use, not the inexpensive copies sold for classrooms etc.
