Lietz (sokkia ms-16) mirror stereoscope
Small mirror stereoscope in like-new condition in cushioned wooden case. Used by surveyors, cartographers, geologists, geographers and others for viewing stereo-pair aerial survey images.
This appears to be identical to the Sokkia MS-16 Small Mirror Stereoscope found today on the web for $440+ (e.g. http://www.terratech.net/product.asp?specific=jolrnqr4). I am assuming that Sokkia is the successor manufacturer to Lietz / Sokkisha for this product. Fine quality instrument with optical path extended to 16cm by mirrors. Provides a wide field of view - 100mm x 100mm, with approximately 1.5x maginfication. Legs fold for storage.
Lietz and 8187-00 in split circle logo on face of instrument with Sokkisha Japan 10598 on three lines below logo, visible in photo. Blue metallic Lietz logo on lid of case with Made in Japan transparent sticker on back. Case is 4 high x 5 deep x 12 long in excellent condition.
