East Coast Datacom Router Delay Simulator RDS
This is a unit for inserting delays in a router link to test your network performance. Gee whiz. This is what *real* network engineers use.

For testing network transmission delays. The Router Delay Simulator (RDS) allows Router-to-Router connections at data rates up to 2.048Mbps while simulating network delays. The user selectable delays are for both data and control signals and range from 5 milliseconds(mS) to approximately 1250 mS, in 5 mS increments. The RDS allows users to test and pre-configure Routers (with software applications)and other critical DTE equipment for reliable network operation while simulating network delay times.
* Interfaces supported: RS-232, V.35, X.21, RS-422, RS-530, TTL and HSSI
* Network Simulation delays of 5mS up to 1250mS in 5mS increments
* Controls for RTS/CTS delay, DSR, DTR on a per port basis
* Status LED's for each port allows ease of connection and trouble shooting
* Timing - Internal or accepts external timing from DTE for test purposes

The RDS has individual data interfaces that allow HSSI,V.35, RS-530, RS-422/449, RS-232, X.21 and TTL serial connections. The data interfaces may also be mix and matched such as V.35-to-RS-530 connection.
Installation is fast and simple by setting the external switches for Delay Simulation, Clocking, Carrier Operation and RTS to CTS delay. All clocking and signal crossover are provided with in the RDS.
The RDS has status LED's for each attached DTE device which allows the user to visually confirm the presence of control signals.
The RDS utilizes state of the art digital CMOS technology to provide a feature filled product at a very affordable price. Our Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design has allowed us to offer this product with a wide selection of user Delay Settings and Baud Rates.
The RDS is housed in a sturdy standalone or rackmount metal enclosure and operates on 110/220VAC.
The RDS has a three year warranty and a 24 hourturnaround on warranty repairs.
This is straight from corporate America, taken out of a company that closed a facility. I guarantee it to power up (which it does) for 5 days, this is a 5 day NON-DOA warranty. But this is clearly not DOA.
