Vu audio level meter -20 to +3DB, backlightable, 250UA
VU Meter -20 to +3dB Markings, "Audio Level Meter" Moving Coil 250uA f.s.d
This is a panel meter which is rated at 250uA for full scale deflection. The measured D.C. resistance on one sample is 750 Ohms. It reads +3 when fed with 10V via a 47k resistor. The scale is marked in dB making it suitable to be used for a simple audio level meter when driven with the appropriate VU meter circuitry. These are ideal for audio level meters on small mixers, analogue synth panels, microphone pre-amps or other non-critical audio applications where a traditional moving-needle meter showing an average audio level may be desired. The case measures 48mm high by 55mm wide. The meter area protrudes by 3.5mm and is 50 mm horizontal by 29.5 mm vertical. The back plastic is translucent white making this very suitable for backlighting. In the main picture it is lit with two 5mm white LEDs with series resistors taking 11mA each from 9V. I have some of these pre-wired LEDs on another listing.
