The forward voltage is less than 0.27V which is as good as OA47
There is an argument that this diode is not Germanium made because the packet is not the same as 2 years before. We tested this with the old packet one and found that this diode the forward voltage is only 0.27V while the old packet one is between 0.28V and 0.48V.
We believe this is Germanium made diode because Silicon diode (except schottky diode) the forward voltage must greater than 0.6V which is definitely not suitable for crystal radio.
The output of a crystal radio is the voltage after the this diode, lower forward voltage implies higher output and this is the reason why Germanium diode is the only choice.
If you still believe in using the old packet one (it is available in our store and the price is the same), please do so although we are recommend to use this one.
