HSS precision ground from M35 high speed steel bars with 5% cobalt. Intended to be used on alloys, hardened steels, cast irons, titanium and many other really hard to drill materials such as stainless steel.
* Cobalt drill-bits are the next step up the hardness scale from HSS drill-bits.
* They are designed to drill very hard materials, and will cope better with metals like stainless steel.
* Used in normal HSS applications they will outperform and outlast the very best of HSS drills hands down.
* One useful DIY application is drilling out the remains of other broken HSS drill-bits or threads prior to insertion of Helicoils.
