Ampex gtb-240 rack mount bit-error tester for dcrsi

GTB-240 Rack Mount Bit-Error Tester
The GTB-240 tester is a stand alone device packaged in a 1.875" (1u) rack mountable enclosure. It contains a test pattern generator and receiver suitable for measuring bit errors in any test mode of the DCRsi 240, 120, and 75 recorders
Pseudo-random pattern compatible with the internal pattern generator of the DCRsi family (27-1)
Pseudo-random pattern with known error rate (27-1 @ 3.90E-3)
Test data may be transferred to, or from, the DCRsi 240 via the standard 8-bit parallel interface. A front panel knob allows testing of each individual bit line in the DCRsi 240 interface, or all bits at once. An internal clock source provides clock required for data transfer to, or from, the DCRsi recorder. Eight different clock rates are available (1.25, 3.75, 5, 10, 13.33, 15, 20, 30 Mbytes/sec) via a front panel knob. In addition, the user may provide an external clock to the tester enabling data transfer at any other required rate. The GTB-240 tester may also be controlled remotely through an RS-232 interface.
17"W x 1.875"H x 8"D (9.25"D including knobs and connectors)
90-264 VAC (auto switching) 47-440 Hz
27-1 pattern with known error rate (3.90E-3)
Sampled 0-5V analog input (8-bit A/D)
1.25, 3.75, 5, 10, 13.33, 15, 20, 30 Mbytes/sec
(10, 30, 40, 80, 106,7, 120, 160, 240 Mbits/sec)
Externally supplied to 50 Mbytes/sec
Continuous, Single Byte, Single Scan, Off
Uncorrectable Error Flag Count
1 TTL Pulse Per Error (triggers on a single bit error but, because of the pulse width, errors) may mask multiple adjacent
8-bit parallel interface support including DataReady control.
Internal pattern generator and clock source.
Variety of display modes including BER, Total Errors and Data Monitor.
Single-step clock gating allowing direct viewing of any byte.
Ability to sample and record analog data (0-5V) on aux track.
Controllable and readable via RS232 interface.
Compatible with DCRsi 240, DCRsi 120 and DCRsi 75 Recorders
Grab it for pennies on the dollar.
2. I have no expertise of any technical nature with regards to this unit, should you still decide to contact me with such questions after purchase, you will inevitably be disappointed with my answer. Nevertheless, I welcome any queries.
